Become a Member of The Living History Company

As a member of the Living History Company you will be eligible to participate in all LHC activities and events.  You will also have full access to the LHC Message Boards and will have a vote in the election of Board Members and other voting matters that come before the general membership (voting restrictions apply based on your membership category).  We always have a need for costumed performers but there are other ways to help.  We need people to teach, research, write, present, organize, build, sew and serve on committees among other things.  And if you don’t have a costume and know nothing about performing, we’ll teach you everything you need to know.  All you need is the desire.

There are five membership categories available, something for every circumstance.  All memberships are for a period of one year, January 1 through December 31.

1.  Student – Available to any person under the age of 18.  This membership category has no vote.  Members in this category must have all membership forms and the Release and Waiver of Liability signed by a parent or guardian.  If the member is under 12, in order to participate in LHC events the parent or guardian must be a participating LHC member.  If the member is under the age of 16, a parent or guardian must be present at any event the member participates in.  The member must abide by LHC by-laws and policies.  The cost of this membership category is $15.00 per year.

2.  Individual – Available to any person age 18 or older.  This membership has one vote.  The member may participate in any event he/she desires (certain costuming, dialect or other conditions and restrictions may apply to any event).  Member must abide by LHC by-laws and policies.  The cost of this membership is $20.00 per year.

3.  Family – Available to any size family and is limited to immediate family members only.  It is also limited to a maximum of 2 generations within the family unit.  This membership is allowed two votes but only members age 18 and over will be allowed to cast votes.  All family members included in this membership must be listed on the Membership Application form.  All members included in this membership must abide by LHC by-laws and policies.  The cost of this membership is $30.00 per year.

4.  Organization – Available to any established re-enactor organization.  This membership shall have one vote.  All members included in this membership must be listed on the Member Name List form.  All members included in this membership must abide by LHC by-laws and policies when attending or participating in LHC events.  The cost of this membership is $45.00 per year.

5.  Associate – Available to businesses and organizations that wish to be financial supporters of LHC.  This membership has one vote.  Members included in this membership shall be subject to LHC by-laws and policies in all activities related to LHC.  The cost of this membership shall be determined by the LHC Board of Directors on a case-by-case basis.

The following describes which forms are required for your membership:

• Membership Application – One form for each membership.  Up to 5 names may be listed on this form.  Please use the Member Name List if there are more than 5 persons included in the membership.  Organization memberships must fill out the Membership Application form but please list all member names on the Member Name List form.

• Membership Additional Information – All members must complete this form.

• Medical Consent – All members must complete out this form.

• Liability Release – All members must complete this form.

• Member Name List – Use this form if there are more than 5 members included in the membership or the membership is an Organization membership.
