  • Committees Gearing Up For 2012 -

LHC is like most other organizations in that we are always looking for help. We have several committees that can use help at the present. If you could help with any of these committees, please post on the forum boards or contact the indicated person.

Policy Committee – Chair: Frank Dvorak – the policy committee has been re-activated for a while to take up several policy measures needing to be addressed.

MTDF Committee – Chair: Tammy Duncan – the Missouri Tartan Days Festivities committee serves as the Education Committee of the MTDF Board, the organizers of Tartan Days. LHC has been asked to provide this service and will be spearheading the camps and educational activities at the Missouri Tartan Days Festival on April 13 – 15. As the time moves closer to the festival date, we can always use more help.

TTB Committee – Chair: Danielle Goodman – It’s never too early to start planning the next Time Traveler’s Ball. A successful ball is the work of a lot of folks. Here’s your chance to be part of something that’s a lot of fun.

  • Events for 2012 are falling into place

Before the month of March is out, we should have a pretty good idea of the events we will be doing this year. There are some new ones and some repeats, all of which are fun events. Watch this page and the forums for announcements as events are confirmed. If you are not a member or are a novice re-enactor wanting to give it a try, by all means contact us and get in on the action. This is going to be an exciting year for LHC.

  • Tartan Days – April 13 – 15

Tartan Days will have a new look this year. We will not be doing the traditional “Bonnie Prince Charlie” or “Mary Queen of Scots” camps as we have done in the past. The Tartan Days Board has asked that we put an emphasis on Scottish-Americans. As such, there are three camps that we will try to staff this year. A Western Camp, portraying famous Scottish cowboys and folks of the old west, a Colonial Camp, portraying many of our founding fathers, patriots and upstanding citizens of the era, and a camp of famous Americans with a Scottish heritage. We will also be needing folks to help with stage events as we will have a stage available this year. Please see the page on this website for full details.

  • Lowertown Arts and Music Festival – Paducah, KY, May 18 – 20.

It’s not too late to sign up to join us in Paducah on May 18 – 20, 2012 for an event a lot of us look forward to. We are beginning to make plans now so sign up on the forums if interested.

  • Time Travelers Ball – November 17, 2012

While the TTB committee has just got started on making plans for this, we can give you the date so you can start getting any garb you might want together. As usual, you are welcome to come dressed for any time period you might prefer. Or, you can come dressed in the spirit of this year’s theme, The Roaring 20′s. You might want to get started on this now, this is going to be one great event.
