Welcome to HistoryIsAlive.org,  the website of the Living History Company, a Missouri not-for-profit corporation.

Our mission is to provide an educational and networking resource for living history re-enactors, and to facilitate, develop and promote living history experiences for education and enjoyment.  We welcome re-enactors from all areas into our group.  Our purpose is not to replace your current re-enacting efforts but to supplement and enhance your re-enacting experience.

As we go into our 3rd year, the Living History Company is accepting new and renewing members who are interested in any aspect of historical re-enacting.  Please take the time to see a little of what we have done and what we have coming up in 2012.   If you have no re-enacting experience but are interested, you have nothing to worry about.  We can teach you everything you will need to know.  We have several membership plans available and membership forms can be downloaded from the “Join Us” page or the “Forms” page.

We have lots of plans, hopes and dreams for the LHC:

• building a website with resources for re-enactors, educators, families, or anyone with an interest in history; making connections with festivals, historic sites, and other living history venues across the Midwest;
• building a training program for members new to re-enacting;
• offering advanced workshops and learning experiences for veteran re-enactors;
• developing new living history performance opportunities;
• identifying the many ways that we can serve the re-enacting community and the community at large
• and more.

Your membership entitles you to become a voting member with access to our Forums. You can get a taste of what LHC has to offer by logging on to the Forums as a guest, where you have access to our News and Information topic and our Gallery.  Once your membership is approved, you will be given access to the rest of the forum, where you can join a variety of discussions and plans for both service and social events.

The Living History Company is quickly becoming known for quality living history experiences, and our services are already in demand. Become part of the Living History Company and help us make it the Midwest’s best living history performance company!
